Is Scry a bot? Does it automate anything?
No. Scry never sends inputs to the game — no automated taps, clicks, swipes or key presses. Every action comes from your finger. It shows you information; it never plays for you.
Will using Scry get my account banned?
Scry is built specifically to avoid the behaviours Jagex prohibits — it doesn't connect to the game servers, read the game, or automate input. It's an overlay companion that sits on top of the official app, the way a wiki tab sits open beside you.
We can't speak for Jagex or make guarantees on their behalf — enforcement is always their call. What we can tell you is exactly how the app behaves, which we've laid out on the compliance page and disclosed to Jagex in full.
Does Scry need my RuneScape login?
Never. Scry does not store or request your Jagex login credentials. You just enter your public username if you want player lookups — the same info anyone can search on Wise Old Man.
Can Scry see my screen or read the game?
No. There's no screen capture and no reading of the game's memory or process. Scry draws its own window over the top; it can't see what's inside OSRS, and it doesn't try to.
Where does my data live?
Your trackers, notes, settings and progress are stored locally on your device. Scry doesn't link app usage to your Jagex account or identity. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
Is it free?
Scry starts with a 7-day free trial with everything unlocked. After that, a set of core tools stay free forever (the ones marked Free on the features page), while the rest are part of a Scry subscription, managed through Google Play.
Where does the game data come from?
From public community sources — the OSRS Wiki, the OSRS Wiki Prices API and Wise Old Man — and only when you request it. Scry never talks to Jagex's game servers.
What permissions does Scry ask for, and why?
The main one is "display over other apps," which is what lets the overlay float above OSRS. Others cover notifications (for timers and reminders) and keeping background services alive (so a running timer or the metronome survives the screen turning off). It doesn't request contacts, location, or storage access it doesn't need.
How do I suggest a feature or report a bug?
